1. TOPCon Solar Penal

TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology is the trending solar cell technology

The trending solar cell technology which focuses on increasing the solar panel efficiency is TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact). The solar industry is also moving towards most efficient and lain solar devices and as such various technologies are being developed at a very fast pace. TOPCon technology also endeavor to realize higher efficiency of solar cells. It is expected to be the next big thing in solar and is positioned for rapid growth in market share in coming years.

Key Features:-
  1. 16BB half-cell technology
  2. Module Efficiency- 22.3%
  3. 6 rows design in 144-HC cell layou
  4. N-Type TOPCon Cell
  5. M10 Gallium doped wafer

All the stakes are in the higher efficiencies since the limits of. PERC cells have been reached. A recent report by NREL on TopCon solar conversion efficiencies in microbial cells have achieved up to 28% which far exceeds that of traditional solar cells. The technology operates by minimizing electron recombination at the surface using passivated contacts yielding the efficiency of the cell as a whole. Often, silicon dioxide, is used to lower energy losses as an insulating material. TOPCon cells are related to N-type cells and have rear-side contacts, meaning an increase of light absorption and energy yield.

So the most important difference between MonoPERC cells and TOPCon is that passivated contacts in MonoPerc cells are placed on the front side while in TopCon are put on the backside of the cell. Furthermore, TopCon cells, in general, have higher efficiencies than MonoPERC cells.

2. PERC Solar Penal

PERC technology to put pressure on traditional solar cells in supply chain

Mono PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) solar panels represent an evolutionary step in PV technology, improving the efficiency of conventional monocrystalline solar cells. Mono PERC panels place a passivation layer on the backside of the cell to aid in absorbing light and minimizing electron recombination, resulting in better energy conversion rates.

Key Features:-
  1. P-Type PERC Cell
  2. Module Efficiency- 20.87%
  3. G12 gallium doped wafer
  4. 12BB half-cell technology
  5. 6 rows design in 132-HC cell layout

In standard monocrystalline solar cells, some sunlight passes through without being absorbed, and certain electrons recombine before contributing to the electric current, reducing efficiency. Mono PERC technology addresses these issues by adding a passivation layer to the rear surface of the cell. This layer serves two primary functions:

  1. Reflecting Unabsorbed Light: The passivation layer reflects light that passes through the silicon cell back into the cell, providing a second chance for photon absorption and electricity generation.
  2. Reducing Electron Recombination: The passivation layer minimizes the recombination of electrons, allowing more free electrons to contribute to the electric current, thereby increasing the cell's efficiency.
